How to track student payments as an online tutor

Many online tutors in the Philippines receive payments through bank transfer, e-wallet, or another method agreed with the student or parent. That is payment processing. Classr does not replace that and does not charge students for you.

A payment list becomes useful when it is separated by status. Paid means no action is needed. Pending means the tutor expects payment but it is not late yet. Overdue means the tutor should follow up or apply the agreed rule.

This distinction keeps payment follow-up calmer. Instead of sending reminders based on anxiety or memory, the tutor can see the status and act at the right time.

Packages are convenient for students, but they can become confusing if the tutor does not track usage. A ten-session package should show how many sessions were bought, how many were used, which sessions were cancelled or rescheduled, and what remains.

This protects both sides. The tutor can explain the balance clearly, and the student or parent can trust that the record is not being guessed from memory.

Late payment conversations feel awkward when the tutor is unsure. They feel more professional when the tutor can refer to a clear record: the date, the amount, the session or package, and the status.

A good reminder does not need to sound harsh. It can be short, specific, and respectful. The record behind the reminder is what gives the message confidence.
